We are looking for a Design Director to join our team and develop our creative department through a variety of highly visible, global, regional, and local projects. Reporting directly to the creative director, you will support the creative growth of the design team and the growth of Malherbe’s portfolio of clients & projects. Part of a unique team that provides a small business working style within a large organization framework, you will be preparing & presenting strategic, best in class, high-end projects to major stakeholders.

  • MANAGEMENT - PROJECT

    The Design Director leads several projects simultaneously, from the design phase to execution. They are the driving force that keeps teams moving forward.
    • Receive and analyze the brief
    • Study resource planning and have it approved by the Creative Director (project schedules)
    • Raise team awareness about project profitability
    • Provide creative direction to the teams
    • Schedule and lead creative meetings with the team and the Creative Director
    • Monitor the project’s progress between each meeting with the Creative Director
    • Take part in the production of deliverables
    • Help define the presentation document in collaboration with the Account Director and the Creative Director
    • Present to the client
    • Debrief the teams after the presentation

  • MANAGEMENT - PEOPLE

    • Responsible for a creative team (Project Designers, Designers, Architects, and, depending on experience, junior Design Managers)
    • Recruit creative profiles with less than 3 years of experience
    • Train Project Designers, Designers, and Architects in production tools
    • Evaluate Project Designers, Designers, and Architects
    • Refer potential team member developments (promotion, raise, bonus, training proposal) to the creative committee
    • Manage the team’s schedule

  • CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

    • Participate in development meetings
    • Take the brief / Present the project to clients
    • Be proactive in terms of upselling

  • HIERARCHICAL RELATIONSHIPS

    • Directly supervise Project Designers, Designers, and Architects
    • Work in constant collaboration with Account Directors
    • Report to the assigned Creative Director
    • Provide reporting to the assigned Creative Director
    • Career development: Advancement to the position of Creative Director
